Responding to the unraveling pandemic of COVID-19 virus, the Ural Plant of Deicing Materials (UZPM) has launched commercial production of its brand new Bionord detergent for roadways and urban infrastructure. Propelled by the strong demand of the existing detergent, called Bionord Shampoo for roadways, UZPM has field-tested and began production of the new enhanced version with disinfecting properties.

“We have noticed the scale of the spread of the virus infection around the world and we realized our labs have something very useful given the circumstances. Our new product is formulated in such a way that it works very effectively in both senses: it cleans roads from grit and oil, and it sanitizes, while its components are biodegradable and harmless to the population and the environment.  Yet, it is a powerful weapon in order to keep the cities clean and fight the dangerous virus.” – said Rustam Gilfanov, UZPM founder, who lead the R&D team to launch this new product.

The new Bionord detergent with a disinfecting effect is intended for cleaning and disinfecting urban infrastructure, road surfaces and pedestrian areas.  Its main cleaning and sanitizing properties are derived from a unique formula of its components, such as cationic surfactants – strong bactericidal additives in compositions with anionic or non-ionic surfactants.

Large Russian cities have started to sanitize their streets with Bionord road detergent. The Russian city of Perm in Ural region, where UZPM is located,  was the first one to apply the new product. The demand for the new product is skyrocketing as more and more cities place orders for the innovative solution to sanitize their streets and infrastructure.
