Industry: Apps & Software

Many businesses, especially in the hospitality market are wondering how to solve health compliance needs to safely re-open their doors in the face of COVID19 (coronavirus). VNS International is offering their new comprehensive PMEDSS package to meet these needs under required standards including those of CDC.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRUnderground) May 28th, 2020

The COVID-19 (coronavirus) crisis has completely disrupted the cruise line and resort industry, along with many other related businesses. Cruise lines and the hospitality industry are now faced with developing comprehensive response plans to comply with rapidly changing CDC, USPH, and other Agencies’ requirements. These complex response plans must take into account the need to protect the health of guests and staff, while minimizing reliance on governmental and healthcare resources.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) issued a “No Sail” order to preserve human life and medical resources starting on March 14th, 2020 in response to the coronavirus. The order lasts for at least 100 days but may be extended longer. During this period, cruise lines are tasked with developing “appropriate, actionable, and robust plans to “prevent, mitigate, and respond to the spread of COVID-19 on board cruise ships.”

Guest monitoring is instrumental to any proposed COVID-19 response plan. VNS International, who has developed hardware and software solutions for the maritime and resort industry for 20 years, has responded to this need for guest monitoring with by developing PMEDSS, a new solution to assist cruise lines, resorts, and other companies, to return to service rapidly and in compliance while maintaining a safe environment. PMEDSS solution stands for Prevention, Monitoring, Education, Disinfecting, Safety and Satisfaction. PMEDSS incorporates body thermo scanning; facial recognition; Artificial Intelligence (AI) distance learning; case management; and other new technologies.

“Due to the elusive nature of COVID-19, we need to depend in technology, procedures and data to control and monitor the safety of our guests and crew,” commented Captain. Benjamin Keeley, founder of VNS International. “If we can back our findings with real data, we can prevent and modify any misconception that guests may have. With available technology, we are able to assist cruise lines, resorts and companies to return to service in a safe and organized manner. We will be monitoring and building on the guest and the environmental data as it relates to potential COVID-19 risk at all times. PMEDSS is designed to enforce the use of best practices while analyzing data to allow the company to implement effective response plans, while allowing guests unimpeded enjoyment of their leisure choices.”

Cruise lines owners, resorts owners, and other companies have responded very positively to PMEDSS now being available.

Martin Salzedo, a cruise line executive based in the United States, gave the system a five-star review, “The challenge of the coronavirus has us all wondering what to do next. We are beyond happy to see VNS International, who we have used for other products in the past, present the PMEDSS solution. It delivers something we feel very confident in.”
