A Logo Lover's Typography Workshop Taught By TypeEd For Valentine's Day Weekend

AIGA LA Hosts a TypeEd Logomark Workshop Focusing On Typography For Passionate Logo Lovers in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (PRUnderground) February 6, 2014

TypeEd, the Los Angeles-based program of typography courses for the creative community, will be arming designers with the skills to better develop word marks in an upcoming workshop hosted by AIGA Los Angeles called “Marks Of Desire: A Wordmark Workshop of True Passion.” Students will learn about brand marks and what makes them unique and will discover what makes logo marks successful through the exploration of deconstructing and reconstructing of letterforms. This eight-hour workshop introduced will take place on February 15 from 10:00am to 6:00pm at General Assembly in Santa Monica, California.

Instructor Michael Stinson will review the basic elements and construction of Valentine’s Day-related brand marks, discuss contemporary examples and how to analyze and approach the alteration and development of custom letter forms. Students will concept, draw, digitize and critque logotypes during the session.

The registration cost is $75 for AIGA Supporting Members, $95 for AIGA Contributing Members and $145 for Non-Members. Participants must have a basic understanding of letterform anatomy before enrolling and encompass intermediate Adobe Illustrator skills, and bring a laptop computer with Adobe Illustrator installed.
