American Sentinel University, an accredited healthcare-focused online university, will be a Premier Education Provider for the American Nursing Informatics Association (ANIA) for the second consecutive year.
American Sentinel and ANIA are both committed to advancing the specialty practice of nursing informatics which is essential to the delivery of high quality and cost-effective healthcare. The organizations have partnered to provide ANIA’s members with access to American Sentinel’s CCNE and ACEN-accredited nursing degree programs that are immediately impactful in their informatics careers.
Nursing informatics integrates nursing, computer science and emerging technology to manage knowledge in a healthcare setting and draw meaningful insights from collating and analyzing patient data. Nursing informaticists educated at the doctoral-level have become integral in healthcare to ensure safety, improve patient outcomes, and reduce costs.
The partnership offers ANIA’s 3,000+ members, including nurses and healthcare professionals a discounted tuition rate for American Sentinel’s online nursing and healthcare management degrees and certificate programs. The partnership also provides members access to tuition payment plans and other benefits.
“American Sentinel understands the crucial role that nursing informatics plays in healthcare, and we are honored to partner with one of the most important informatics associations. Together we can achieve the goal of preparing highly qualified nurses and healthcare professionals to lead informatics in today’s healthcare systems,” says Elaine Foster, Ph.D., MSN, RN, Dean of Nursing and Healthcare Programs at American Sentinel University.
American Sentinel’s flexible online learning platform makes advanced education even more attainable and enables ANIA members to gain the tools, business fundamentals and leadership abilities, knowledge, and skills that immediately impact their careers.
The university’s new DNP Informatics Leadership online degree is an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)-approved program. It’s one of a select few in the country and emphasizes critical thinking and advanced management and leadership skills. The curriculum is timely and relevant and provides nurses with the foundation and skills to lead their organizations and the next generation of nurses.
“The mission of ANIA is to advance nursing informatics through education, research, and practice in all roles and settings. We are pleased to make available to our members the degree programs offered by American Sentinel University through our new partnership,” says Brenda Kulhanek, Ph.D., MSN, MS, RN-BC, President of ANIA.
