Internationally regarded as one of the finest and most inventive songwriters of all time, Elvis Costello will soon be embarking on a nationwide tour once again, with a gig planned at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre on June 16th.
Playing in collaboration with his backing band, the Imposters, the upcoming 13 Revolvers tour will see Costello revive the famous 'Spinning Songbook', which sees members of the audience spin a giant wheel which lands randomly on the next song to be played in the set. This innovative song selection technique proved hugely popular when it was first tried out at a series of venues in 1986, and will no doubt ensure that accommodation at the various hotels in Edinburgh will be in high demand when the 'Oliver's Army' and 'I Can't Stand Up for Falling Down' star comes to the Scottish capital.
There are currently a wide range of great value hotel deals available from Hotel Direct for any potential attendees to take advantage of, although anyone interested in coming along may have to be quick about it, as tickets are expected to disappear before long. With Costello's last album, 2010's National Ransom enjoying high critical praise, it is unlikely that spare seats at his upcoming tour will be available for long! Tickets can be purchased now and cost either £36.50 or £42.50.
