Brooklyn, NY (PRUnderground) February 5, 2015

Brooklyn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will once again play host to hundreds of women from all over the Brooklyn area for a self-defense and personal protection seminar on Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Brooklyn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s schools offer these seminars on a quarterly basis to women as a way to provide education and practical strategies about staying safe in their communities.

Chief Instructor Gene Dunn has long advocated self-defense and assault prevention as an essential pillar of martial arts practice, and therefore makes sure he shares it with as many women as possible. “Our goal with these seminars is to provide a resource for women in Brooklyn who need information and training but might not otherwise seek it out. The techniques we’ll be teaching are safe, simple and vital keys for women in our communities to feel safer and more confident in their day-to-day lives,” says Dunn.

WPP2.JPGBrooklyn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is fully committed to empowering women of all ages and stages, which is why this seminar is open to all women regardless of ability or experience. These seminars are designed for first-time self-defense students and will teach participants critical techniques to address the most common threat scenarios women face. Providing women in these communities with the ability to be smart, aware of their surroundings and prepared to defend against an attacker is top priority in the seminar.

If you are a woman or have a woman in your life, it is imperative that they attend this seminar to learn life-saving techniques.
