Fine Art Shippers, an international art shipping company, is pleased to share the amazing news that the Belvedere 21 in Vienna, Austria is currently hosting a very special exhibition. Titled “ATTERSEE. Feuerstelle,” it is entirely dedicated to the early career of the prominent contemporary Austrian artist Christian Ludwig Attersee. The art exhibition is on view at the Belvedere 21 through August 18, 2019.

The Belvedere 21 is a museum located in one of the most beautiful and significant Modernist buildings in Vienna, which was constructed by Karl Schwanzer in 1958. Being part of the Belvedere umbrella brand, the Museum offers a vibrant art space with high-caliber exhibitions of modern and contemporary art in a variety of multimedia and interdisciplinary formats. The Belvedere 21 is also a popular venue in Vienna for artist talks, concerts, themed lectures, film screenings, and performative interventions. Since its re-opening in 2011, the Museum has hosted numerous exhibitions, showcasing works by both internationally acclaimed and not-so-famous artists. One of the current exhibitions at the Belvedere 21 is “ATTERSEE. Feuerstelle,” and it is definitely worth your time and attention.

“ATTERSEE. Feuerstelle”

ATTERSEE. Feuerstelle” is a solo exhibition of works by Christian Ludwig Attersee, one of the most prominent Austrian artists, who participated in the contemporary art revolution in the 1960s. Focused on the artist’s early career, it features many little-known works that range from paintings and photographs to film and music, showing all aspects of Attersee’s oeuvre.

Christian Ludwig Attersee is a unique personality noted as the founding figure of “New Austrian Painting” and one of the leading contemporary Austrian artists working in almost all fields of the visual arts. Moreover, he has made his name as a sailing sportsman, musician, filmmaker, set designer, designer, writer, and object maker. Over the course of almost sixty years, Attersee has participated in hundreds of international art exhibitions, including the prestigious Venice Biennale where he represented Austria in 1984. He was awarded the City of Vienna Prize for Visual Arts, the Grand Austrian State Prize for Fine Arts, the Silver Commander’s Cross of Honour for Services, the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art, and received many other awards throughout his distinguished career.

“ATTERSEE. Feuerstelle” is not the first solo exhibition of Christian Ludwig Attersee, but it is the first one that pays close attention to his early works. At Fine Art Shippers, we highly recommend that you visit the Belvedere 21 in Vienna and learn more about Attersee and his significant contribution to the development of contemporary art in Austria.
