Philadelphia, PA (PRUnderground) October 18, 2022

Prior to his arrival at DMAX, Ethan Jewett served as Executive Director/CEO of Corazón Community Services in Cicero, IL. Ethan began his work with impact organizations at the American Academy of Pediatrics, where he spent 12 years conducting health policy, research, child advocacy, and ultimately directed Board and governance operations. Ethan holds a BA from Kalamazoo College (MI) and a MA from the University of Chicago, as well as a Master of Divinity from Chicago Theological Seminary.

At DMAX, Ethan will succeed Laurie Burstein-Maxwell, who with her husband Lee Maxwell, established DMAX Foundation in 2013 after the suicide of their son, Dan Maxwell, after whom the charity is named.

Laurie explained, “It was a tall order to find someone who could take over my position at this very personal organization created in memory of our son, Dan. In terms of qualifications, she noted that “We were seeking an executive leader and strategic, forward thinker with fundraising expertise and an operations background. We made the right choice with Ethan.

Ethan shares this excitement for DMAX’s future expansion. “I’m incredibly proud of DMAX Foundation’s legacy,” he said, “supporting college students’ mental health with such an innovative model for student-led mental health clubs on college campuses.”

Ethan’s hiring comes as the Foundation has DMAX Clubs at 11 schools in 4 states, and is continuing to increase its reach and expand the impact organization on a national scale.
