Ideal Property Group is working to move SJKC Heng Ee to the planned Southwest District location. By the end of this year, the real estate company expects to have applied for planning permission and the development permit and turned in the building plan.

If all goes according to the proposed timeline, construction can begin early in 2023, with all expenses paid by Ideal Property Group. The new school boasts a range of amenities, including administrative and academic zones, a large hall and canteen, technology and laboratory rooms, and more than 40 classrooms.

“We know how important schools are to our young people and families,” says Ooi Kee Liang, Founder and Executive Chairman of Ideal Property Group. “Currently, Chinese population and the attendant number of school-age children are growing rapidly in the area. We are excited to relocate the school to a new, larger building that can embrace a much greater number of pupils.”

Ideal Property Group is one of Malaysia’s leading property developers, combining form with function to produce some of the most stunning buildings on the Penang property market. They will bring this expertise and deep understanding of the area to their latest project, creating a pleasant learning environment for students while making the Southwest District a viable destination for Chinese families.

Currently, the school can only accommodate a few hundred students. Once the new building is finished, it can enroll up to 1000 students, realizing the vision of the founders who worked tirelessly to create the school in the first place. Students who enroll in SJKC Heng Ee enjoy the privilege of furthering their studies directly at SMJK Heng Ee, without requiring an application process for the latter.

Ooi Kee Liang is also Chairman of the Heng Ee Board of Directors and is highly motivated to meet the needs of local Chinese students. Ooi established Ideal Property Group in 2001 to enhance property development projects in Penang island.
