Publishing Policy
Version 2026-05-01
When you submit a release, you're asking us to distribute your words to a network of news sites and search-indexed publishers. That carries real-world consequences. This policy spells out what you're attesting to and what we will and won't publish.
1. Submitter attestation
Each time you submit a release, you confirm: (a) the information is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and any factual or performance claims can be substantiated; (b) you have the authority to issue this release on behalf of every company, brand, product, or person named in it; (c) the content does not infringe any third party's trademark, copyright, publicity, or privacy rights; (d) the content is not defamatory and does not violate FTC rules on endorsements, testimonials, or material connection disclosure; (e) you will indemnify PR Underground against any third-party claims, damages, or legal fees arising from the content you submitted.
2. Content standards
We will not distribute releases that contain: profanity, hate speech, harassment, or content targeting protected classes; sexual content; calls to violence or illegal activity; undisclosed affiliate marketing or pay-for-placement; unsubstantiated medical, financial, or safety claims; impersonation of any person, company, or government entity; cryptocurrency, gambling, or financial offers that omit material risk disclosures.
3. Authority to publish
If your release names a person, company, product, or brand, you must have authorization to issue news on their behalf. We may, at our discretion, request written confirmation before distribution — particularly for releases involving public figures, executive announcements, partnerships, acquisitions, or financial events.
4. Review and rejection
Every release passes through editorial review before distribution. We may reject any release that violates this policy or that we judge — in good faith — to carry undue legal, reputational, or syndication-network risk. Rejected releases are refunded per the refund policy. We may also request revisions; revised releases are re-reviewed.
5. Takedown
We reserve the right to remove a distributed release from our archive and request removal from syndication partners if: a third party presents a credible legal claim (defamation, IP infringement, impersonation); the release is found to violate this policy; a court or regulatory body orders removal. Syndication partners maintain their own archives and removal is best-effort, not guaranteed.
6. No guarantee of pickup
Distribution to our syndication network is guaranteed. Pickup by individual journalists, search engine indexing, AI assistant citation, and inclusion in trending lists are not — those depend on the newsworthiness of your story and editorial decisions outside our control.
7. Liability
You are the publisher of record for the content you submit. PR Underground acts as a distribution service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you are responsible for the legal consequences of your release, and our liability is limited as described in our Terms of Service.
8. Reporting concerns
If you believe a published release violates this policy or your rights, contact legal@prunderground.com with the release URL and a description of the issue. We respond to credible reports within 5 business days.
