Michael K. Bender is an accomplished nonfiction author whose work reflects a lifetime of international service, executive leadership, and cross‑cultural engagement. His career spans senior roles in both the U.S. government and the global private sector, including service as a Foreign Service Officer at American embassies in Nigeria, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, where he advanced U.S. commercial interests and supported American businesses operating abroad. Following his diplomatic career, Bender served as Senior Advisor to the Chairman of a diversified Middle Eastern group and later became Director of International Marketing for a Midwestern consumer products company. He went on to lead the U.S. operations of a European IT group as Executive Director and President, guiding multinational teams and expanding global market reach. Before retiring, Bender dedicated himself to education and mentorship. He taught English as a Second Language and cultural English to professionals working in international organizations in Washington, D.C., and led after‑school English enrichment programs for students in grades 1–12 in Northern Virginia. Bender holds a B.A. in Political Science, an Executive Master’s Degree in General Administration, and a Certificate in International Law (First Degree with Distinction).
