The Association of Directory Publishers (ADP) has served Yellow Pages directory publishers around the world since 1898, and is today inviting online directory publishers to join its renowned international membership.
The directories of ADP publisher members have long been considered the original “search engine,” bringing buyers and sellers together at the exact moment they’re ready to buy. As the directory industry has evolved so has the Association, and its members now represent print, online and mobile directory publishers, app developers and designers, ad agencies, and suppliers to the search industry.
Appreciating the international reach of ADP and its numerous resources and services, many online publishers have joined the Association to become members, recognizing its position at the forefront of the ever-evolving directory industry.
“Our Association prides itself on helping its membership with marketing, research projects, public policy and convening to network with other directory professionals from around the globe,” said Cindi Aldrich, ADP President and CEO. “It is the unity of this membership that has undertaken the development of standards, benchmarks and criteria for online directory publishers to join us, and we look forward to advancing the directory industry with our new members.”
In addition, ADP presents an annual convention for publishers and partners, the Innovation Conference, and a new awards program that includes online directory categories.
ADP is also unveiling the first-of-its-kind Industry Certification Program for publishers, partners and businesses. The Trusted Local Certification™ program is focused on assuring both prospective and current customers that the companies they hire and/or buy products and services from are reputable, experienced and trustworthy.
Leading companies in the online directory publishing world that have recently joined ADP include Memphis Black Business Directory, USA Online, Hotfrog, Judy’s Book, and MakeItLocal.com.
“The wealth of information ADP members have accumulated in their decades of experience in the directory publishing field is immeasurable,” said ADP’s Chairman of the Board, Chris Heilbock, RVP National Sales of Hibu. “My colleagues and I recently met with new members and are excited about our collaborations that will lead to increased worldwide success in the directory publishing industry.”
