Ski-Lifts "Ski Clean" Protocol Helps skiers, snowboarders stay Covid-19 safe

Is skiing the safest type of holiday to take during the Coronavirus?

The team at Ski-Lifts, who specialize in ski transfers around the world, believe this is the case. They have come up with a "Ski Clean" Protocol based on the equipment that people already use for their chosen sport.

People who ski or snowboard already must wear a form of personal protective equipment (PPE) when they are on the slopes. This includes goggles, gloves, and a buff – the neck and face covering that skiers wear to help protect their skin and keep the air around the face warm.

Some of their Coronavirus advice includes “wash your buff daily. This is especially since these scarves do not have the same filter properties that a mask does, in preventing viruses from being breathed in,” said the spokeswoman from Ski-Lifts.

The Ski-Lifts team also recommend:

• Wipe goggles regularly with clean cloths and anti-fog spray (which is usually the same as PPE anti-fog spray, which is sterile, but always check with the manufacturer)
• Bring extra gloves and keep them clean – especially when touching lots of objects and surfaces, to stop cross contamination
• Sticking to social distancing as much as possible – when you're skiing this is a must anyway if you don’t want to crash into other people

For their airport transfers, Ski Lifts began an enhanced hygiene agreement in the summer with their drivers across Europe and North America. This includes enhanced cleaning in between rides, to ensure that skiers and snowboarders using shared or even private transfers, and even helicopter transfers – are taking the right precautions on their journeys, to protect all passengers.

Ski-Lifts insists this is only supplementary advice, and always to follow all of your local authority's rules when it comes to aspects of a skiing holiday that include queuing, using the lifts, keeping hands clean and sanitized, and wearing masks when asked.

"An essential aspect of this advice is simply to prevent any mini-outbreaks from happening so that everyone can enjoy the ski-season. A lot of this really is just common sense," said a spokeswoman from Ski-Lifts.

Ski-Lifts are offering a “Covid-19 guarantee" so that any passengers who do end up having their travel restricted or sanctioned, can apply for a refund without any hassle.
