Written Doodle Turns Into a Suspense Trilogy by Dana Mansfield

Sioux City, Iowa (PRUnderground) July 25, 2016

What started out as a written doodle to get her writing legs back under her, Dana Mansfield unknowingly formed the beginning of the first book of a suspense trilogy. Deceptions, the first book in the trilogy, begins the dark story of Jack Petrov and his best friend Penny Shepherd as they find themselves kidnapped by someone known only as the Employer. Their struggle to stay alive ends with a shocking discovery but as the truth is revealed, they remain captives, trying to understand what each has learned.

The writing of Deceptions began in the summer of 2010 while Mansfield was on summer break from her job as a reading teacher to at-risk high school students. It was the first summer in several where she was not receiving chemotherapy for leukemia or taking care of her ailing mother. It was the first time she could devote all her waking hours to writing, something she enjoys immensely.

In addition to writing, Mansfield, a 1993 graduate of Morningside College, enjoys reading, getting lost on Netflix, and being an overprotective mom to her two cats – Boots and Joey. Deceptions is Mansfield’s second published novel. Her first, Sunset Park, was published in November 2012 and is available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
