On April 19th, more than 50 of Utah’s most creative people and companies were honored at the 2019 Utah Genius awards. The honorees will have the opportunity to display their most recent patented products or the products associated with their recently registered trademarks.
The award ceremony was held at the Sheraton downtown Salt Lake City with a showcase starting at 6:00 pm followed by a dinner at 7:00 pm. Derek Miller, President of the Salt Lake Chamber was the keynote speaker, and David Bradford received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Genius Awards program honors the Top 20 Utah inventors, the Top 20 Utah companies by patents granted to Utah inventors, and the Top 10 Trademark Registrants.
The Genius Awards program select the winners using data that comes directly from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. There is no voting nor nomination process. In 2018, there were 2185 patents issued to Utah inventors, and 2720 Trademarks registered to Utah companies.
