Art Basel 2017, one of the world’s premier international art fairs, is scheduled for Dec. 7-10 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, which is located just a mile north of the Beacon Hotel. This is an annual event that has been held in Miami since 2002 and is connected with ones that take place on an annual basis in Basel, Switzerland, where it was first held in 1970, and in Hong Kong; it first took place there in 2013.

Art Basel Events

Art Basel 2017 Miami will be open to the public from 3-8 p.m. on Dec. 7, from noon-8 p.m. on Dec. 8 and 9 and from noon-6 p.m. on Dec. 10. A ticket good for all four days may be purchased online for $120 or at the venue for $130 while single-day tickets cost $50 online and $60 on site. Seniors and students can buy day passes for $36 while children ages 12 and under who are with an adult are free. Those who have received invitations are eligible to enter on a private day on Dec. 6 or during vernissage earlier in the day on Dec. 7.

However, Art Basel Miami 2017 is not the only artistic event taking place in Miami Beach that weekend as Art Miami is scheduled from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. every day from Dec. 6-10 with a VIP preview from 5:30-10 p.m. on Dec. 5. This fair, which is held in downtown Miami just 4 miles west of the Beacon Hotel, also attracts a number of art dealers and aficionados. Tickets may be purchased here.
