Boca Raton Orthodontist Dr. Larry Kawa to Donate Braces to PROPEL Charity

Dr. Larry Kawa, President of Kawa Orthodontics, has agreed to donate braces for at-risk youth to the PROPEL charity

Today Boca Raton Orthodontist and Philanthropist, Dr. Larry Kawa, announced that he will be donating braces for at-risk children to the PROPEL charity in Boca Raton.
Dr. Larry Kawa is one of the nation’s most prominent orthodontists, running Kawa Orthodontics, the largest single office in the United States. His orthodontics office has been nationally recognized as a model orthodontic office. In addition Dr. Kawa has a strong history of philantrophy having donated scholarships to the IDF, veterans charities, and working with A Soup Kitchen.
PROPEL, which stands for People Reaching Out to Provide Education and Leadership, was founded in 2004 by a small group of Boca Raton businessmen and community leaders to support the educational achievement and leadership development of the area’s less fortunate youth.
While Boca Raton enjoys a median household income of $71,468, 90% of the city’s youth lives in a household with less than $29,244 of income, Even further, those children come fom homes with an average family size of over 6.
“Having served the greater Boca Raton community for almost 30 years, I’m acutely aware of the hardships that many families are facing in our area,” said Dr. Larry Kawa, President of Kawa Orthodontics. “A smile can make a huge difference in a young person’s life. Knowing that this was such a need in our area, I was happy to team up with PROPEL to help our young people succeed.”
In just 5 years since its inception, PROPEL has given away over $130,000 in college scholarships, and has grown from an 800 sq. ft. facility to an over 8,000 sq. ft. facility, with classrooms, meeting rooms, a full commercial kitchen, and a computer lab.
About Dr. Larry Kawa
Dr.Larry Kawa is a proud second generation orthodontist in Boca Raton Florida since 1993. Dr. Larry Kawa earned his degree from New York University in 1991 and his specialty certificate in Orthodontics and Dento-facial Orthopedics from New York University in 1993. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Brooklyn College in 1987. He is a dual Board Certified Orthodontist, having been Board Certified by the National Board of Orthodontics.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, South Palm Beach County Dental Association (where he has served on the board of trustees), Broward County Dental Association and Southern Association of Orthodontists.
