Portland, OR (PRUnderground) October 2nd, 2025

Brighton Hospice, a leading provider of hospice care in Portland, has secured the #8 position in The Oregonian/OregonLive’s 2025 Top Workplaces awards. The hospice organization distinguished itself among 115 employers in Oregon and Southwest Washington, earning top 10 recognition in the competitive 500+ employee category.

This marks the 4th year in a row that The Oregonian and Energage have recognized Brighton through anonymous employee surveys. Brighton Hospice’s top 10 finish reflects exceptional employee feedback across critical workplace factors, including leadership quality, team dynamics, work-life balance, and organizational culture.

“Ranking in the top 10 validates our belief that taking exceptional care of our team members directly translates to exceptional care for our patients and families,” said Shannon Hoff, Office Administrator at Brighton Hospice in Portland. “In an industry where emotional resilience and compassion are paramount, creating a supportive workplace culture isn’t just important—it’s essential to our mission.”

The recognition is particularly significant in healthcare, where workforce challenges continue to impact organizations nationwide. Brighton Hospice’s success stems from its commitment to five core values—Excellence, Compassion, Collaboration, Integrity, and Loyalty—that shape both employee experience and patient care delivery.

Employee feedback from the anonymous surveys highlights the tangible impact of Brighton Hospice’s people-first culture. “It gives me the work-life balance I need while still feeling that I am part of something bigger for our patients and the hospice industry,” shared an employee in Brighton Hospice Home Team.

Another team member emphasized the strength of workplace relationships: “My team members and leadership are like family. I feel both accepted and motivated to do my personal best every day.”

These sentiments reflect Brighton Hospice’s intentional approach to employee support. The organization cultivates an environment where team members receive personal and professional growth opportunities while leaders focus on empowering clinical teams to concentrate on what matters most—delivering compassionate, expert care to patients facing life’s final journey.

Brighton Hospice operates three offices across Oregon, serving communities throughout the state. Brighton Hospice Portland, established in 2017, maintains headquarters in Tualatin with a satellite office in Salem, serving a 60-mile radius from the Tualatin location.
