Caregiver Support Services Announces Release of At The Heart Of The Matter: A Self-Help Workbook for Caregivers

Industry: Healthcare

Omaha, NE (PRUnderground) December 1st, 2021

The nonprofit organization Caregiver Support Services is announcing the re-release of, At the Heart of the Matter: A Self-Help Workbook for Caregivers. It’s available at www.caregiversupportservices.org and Amazon.

Dr. Eboni Green, author and co-founder of Caregiver Support Services, which specializes in training and support for frontline caregivers, says the re-release is timely due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. “Many caregivers are stuck at home caring for children, parents, and other relatives who have needs,” she says, “So this workbook provides extra support to work through the challenges associated with caring for someone in these unique and stressful times.”

At The Heart of the Matter enables caregivers to explore ways to better care for themselves and enhance their own wellness, in addition to personalizing their caregiving journey. “Taking care of yourself is not selfish. It’s necessary,” Green says.

The self-help workbook offers famous inspirational quotes, poems, and stories; points to ponder along the spiritual journey; and assessments for caregivers to evaluate their spiritual strengths. The book’s chapters are concise, to accommodate caregivers who have limited time.

“The biggest challenge I see caregivers facing right now is resilience fatigue,” Green says, “in that caregivers have always had to be resilient, particularly through the pandemic, when it comes to finding new ways to do things to meet the needs of their clients or family members.”

“This workbook is a guide so caregivers can take the time to actually do some introspection, perhaps adopt a new perspective, and engage in something that solely focuses on them,” Green says, “because it’s important that they don’t experience burnout.”
