Electronic Health Record Innovator HiMS Earns Gold Award in International CEO World Award Competition

Industry: Healthcare

The Company was Also Selected as a Finalist in the 2020 Arizona Technology Council Governor’s Celebration of Innovation Awards

Phoenix, Arizona (PRUnderground) September 15th, 2020

On the heels of its new Utah office opening and the addition of a real-time audio and video telehealth solution to its existing AXiOM Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform, Health Information Management Systems (HiMS), today announced it was honored with a Gold award in the CEO World Award competition. The company was also selected as a finalist in this year’s Arizona Technology Council’s 2020 Governor’s Celebration of Innovation Awards (GCOI).

“Since 2014, we’ve been innovating purpose-built AI solutions that help physicians put their patients first,” said Khalid Al-Maskari, CEO of HiMS. “We’re committed to offering flexible, user-friendly health IT solutions that can adapt to clinics’ changing needs, and we’re proud to be honored by these prestigious award groups. None of it would be possible without the dedication and commitment of the HiMS team and the enthusiasm of our customers.”

The CEO World Awards honors leaders across the globe who set industry benchmarks for excellence. Al-Maskari was selected as a Gold winner in the CEO of the Year Health Care category for retaining 100% of HiMS’s customers in 2019 and for the company’s rapid implementation of software solutions that addressed the needs of its customers to quickly ramp services as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As traditional, legacy health IT solutions struggled to adapt to COVID-19, Al-Maskari and his team were able to integrate a telemedicine solution into its Axiom EHR within 48 hours—something that typically takes nine months to achieve. This above-and-beyond flexibility was instrumental in ensuring HiMS’ customers quickly adjusted to changing clinical demands.

“Because of HiMS, COPE Community Services was able to quickly offer telemedicine services to help our behavioral health patients continue receiving quality access to care,” said Rod Cook, CEO of COPE Community Services. “Where most other clinics suffered substantially during the pandemic, COPE’s operations remained steady.”

In addition to the CEO World Award, HiMS was also recognized as a finalist in this year’s Arizona Technology Council 2020 GCOI Awards. Winners will be announced at a virtual award ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 4-7:30 p.m. MST. Tickets for the GCOI Awards are now available for purchase.
