Goodera partnered with corporate organizations to volunteer for non-profits as part of its International Transgender Day of Visibility campaign, #BeyondTheBinary

San Mateo, CA (PRUnderground) April 4th, 2022

Goodera launched its global campaign for International Transgender Day of Visibility, #BeyondTheBinary, to broaden your understanding of inclusion and build a more inclusive and better world.

Goodera conducted many virtual seminars with nonprofit leaders to discuss the various mediums via which the visibility of the transgender community can be increased, and they can be given an equal platform to express themselves.

“I think visibility itself is of enormous importance. However, it’s essential to keep in mind that not every visibility is good. So I feel like it is also necessary to have a specific kind of visibility that will, on the one hand, represent trans people as just “people” who deserve to be seen as people with rights, needs, and everything else.” says Matija Stefanović, Financial Coordinator Dasezna.

“And on the other hand, which is, in one way, even more important, is to send a message to other trans people that there is a community and there is a place for them where they can feel safe and where you can find support. So I think that’s very important. Speaking of the situation in Serbia, the trans community is not connected enough. Visibility is critical, especially when combining the trans community and empowering it. Also, the LGBT plus movement has been there for decades. However, it has always been led by gays and lesbians.”

The campaign #BeyondTheBinary – Celebrate your identity, enables employee volunteers from Goodera’s list of corporate clients to choose from its curated volunteering experiences, schedule a time that works for them, and volunteer to make an impact.

To celebrate International Transgender Day of Visibility, Goodera partnered with two non-profits to:

  • Design 12 virtual volunteering opportunities for corporate volunteers: Volunteers will write heartfelt letters to share their gratitude and extend support to LGBTQIA+ seniors of color. These letters will provide warmth and comfort to the community while aiding in taking a step forward to build an inclusive environment.

  • Inform people about Developmental Disorder: Goodera had a chance to interact with many nonprofits and their beneficiaries to create record video messages to offer support and compassion to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Goodera’s non-profit partners who work to uplift the Transgender community booked 80+ hours of overall volunteer participation as part of the campaign. Engaging 1500 corporate volunteers helped us raise funds for various non-profits, standing up for the black community in multiple countries.

“Sexism and transphobia are systemic problems that affect all sectors of social life, including workplaces. So, there is a lack of support and understanding from colleagues towards trans people in workplaces.”, says Cem Öztürk, Administrative Coordinator, SPoD.

“When workplaces can’t manage trans people’s experiences, it may result in loads of discrimination and inequalities. Managing the trans employee is not complicated. The key is that it requires a whole organizational approach. This should involve strategic and operational planning and work with colleagues.”

After successfully implementing the campaign #BeyondTheBinary, Goodera has launched its plans to focus on Earth Day and the events of April.
