Graduate America Launches High School CEO, a virtual classroom designed to reduce drop out rate

Graduate America, the world’s leading vertically integrated education and learning technology company, is now offering High School CEO, a new program designed to reduce the number of drop outs, and help students graduate.
Created by Malcolm Allen, the company’s president, data scientist and entrepreneur, High School CEO provides students, ages 13 -17, 24/7 access to a suite of online courses and applications to help them improve academic performance. Additional coursework also is designed to learn critical life skills.
“You know more than a million of the students who enter ninth grade each fall fail to graduate with their peers four years later,” Allen said, “ In fact, about 7,000 students drop out every school day. The strategy behind High School CEO (HSC) is extremely innovative, as it allows teachers and school staff to easily connect with parents, tutors, and mentors—the very people who serve as the strongest support systems for students.”
High School CEO (HSC) has a number of features that make it highly interactive, customizable allowing students and schools to collaborate. For students, there is a goal-setting application, a virtual locker, a calendar, a task list, a groups tab, a notes application and a place for them to identify and list their obstacles and fears.
For schools, there is a scholarship search tool, video conferencing and SMS, voice and email broadcasts. There also are “empowerment tools,” such as ID cards, a jobs search, email, curriculum, a rewards card and QR codes. The program also features on-demand analytical queries, allowing administrators can monitor students’ progress in real time.
“Over time, I know High School CEO will improve academic performance and increase accountability for students,” Allen added. “The program is about youth empowerment, giving students the skills they need to find success in school and beyond.”
