Home Decor Company Behind the Hill Launches Harvest 2019 Collection Featuring a Rare, Un-dyed Pink Blush Cotton to Create its Unique Textiles

Industry: Home & Garden

Behind the Hill has won praise for its high-quality textiles which use a variety of rare cottons. These cottons are not dyed, but grow naturally in shades of white, beige and terra-cotta in Southern Mexico and Guatemala. This year the cotton also grew a striking pink blush color so in late 2019 the company is adding unique new products to its growing catalog.

New York, NY (PRUnderground) August 2nd, 2019

A growing number of people like to surround themselves with natural, ethically-sourced home decor; unique objects that tell a story, and which bring a positive energy to the place where they spend their free time.

Behind the Hill is a Brooklyn-based company that specializes in this area, providing homewares made from a variety of rare, organic and un-dyed cottons called ixcaco o coyuscate. The company’s high-end products combine distinctive designs with ancestral weaving techniques. Their mission is to preserve ancient traditions while creating uniquely new products with contemporary aesthetics.

The Harvest 2019 Collection will be revealed soon, and will feature a collection of pillows and throws available for the first time in a naturally blush colored cotton. These new pieces are certain to catch the eye of home decorators on a quest for singular and ethically made products.

To our great surprise, the cotton grew in shades of pink blush in Guatemala this year, so we designed a capsule collection around this special harvest” commented Maud Lerayer, founder and creative director of Behind the Hill. “We now work with over 15 Mayan women in Guatemala and Mexico who are paid a fair wage to weave our products. We are all very enthusiastic about this collection.”

The Harvest 2019 Collection will be launched at SHOPPE OBJECT, the independent trade show in NYC in August (10-12) at Pier 36 New York, NY, 10002 from 10am-6pm.
