Innovative Films Announces 2016 Cristina Kirchner Documentary

Anthony Ralph Spada and Innovative Films are soon to release their latest documentary, a full-length film about the life and presidency of Cristina Kirchner.

The documentary, which is Spada’s second full-length film, was filmed almost entirely in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Cristina Kirchner, who was the president of Argentina from 2007 until 2015, is the widow of former president Nester Kirchner.

Kirchner’s critics condemned the administration, claiming it exuded corruption, crony capitalism, falsification of public statistics, harassment of the country’s independent media, and use of the tax agency as leverage for censorship, and use of public funds to attack political opponents. Estimates show that the Kirchner government controls upward of 80% of the country’s media, either directly or indirectly. The Kirchner administration was accused by the United States of electoral fraud and secret deals with the Chinese.

The new documentary focuses on the 2006 civilian nuclear power reactivation program, the Pilcaniyeu Uranium Enrichment Plant, that was reopened by Kirchner. During the 90s, the program was placed on hold due to a shortage of natural gas. Spada and Innovative Films also underscore the plague of corruption scandals that seemingly defined Kirchner’s presidency.

Spada, who previously received accolades for his in-depth investigation into the changing eco-structure of the Florida Everglades, and Innovative Films are pleased to announce the release of the new documentary.
