New York-based emerging artist Mercedes King releases debut single

Based out of New York City, Mercedes King is a talented young artist with a multifaceted career. Apart from being a singer, songwriter, and film producer, Mercedes is also an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and an instrumentalist. She started composing music at an early age of 12. What started for Mercedes as an escape from anxieties from losing her mother, is now finally taking the form of a career. Mercedes likes to describe her music style as a fine blend of acoustic pop fare, R&B, and blues. Telling about her musical inspiration, Mercedes says, “My songs are very much reflective of my mood. Unfortunately, I am an emotional person and so my mood is constantly shifting. I write about what I desire, what I want, and what I hope for. I’m a romantic girl but not the best at verbally expressing how I feel, so I do that through music”.

Mercedes is everything a woman should be- strong, bold, and independent. She is the CEO of a record label “Kings Republic Enterprises” that is founded by her. Her latest single is also produced under the same label.

Mercedes believes in emotional connectivity when it comes to music. When asked about her musical aspirations, she instantly said, “I want to entertain people. I want to distract them from any negativity in their life and daydream with me. I want them to relate to me. I want people to use my music as emotional support.”

Mercedes is just like any of us. She is in a good mood, and sometimes she loses it. She feels agitated someday, and someday she finds herself amid a romantic vibe. And her composition and songwriting is a reflection of these emotions. As told by her, her music is “unapologetic, raw, and honest”.
