Psychē Systems Partners with FYR to Develop Revolutionary API for LIS Integrations

Massachusetts-based LIS/LIMS organization Psychē Systems is excited to announce a partnership with cutting edge Montana-based startup FYR Diagnostics to develop a revolutionary API that will enhance the UX in Psychē’s Molecular and COVID-19 testing focused software.

Deanna Shukis, VP of Product at Psychē, described how the project came to fruition: “A Developer API seemed like the next logical step for us as a company based on our assessment of market needs. The key was to find a partner who would have the experience required to fully utilize the API, and I believed FYR Diagnostics would be a perfect partner because of their breadth of knowledge and commitment to future-planning.”

FYR Diagnostics, a research and development lab that had quickly evolved into a clinical lab in 2020 to help Montana fight the COVID-19 pandemic, was immediately receptive to the idea, given that they had first hand seen a lack of simple and easy-to-use functional software tools for clinical lab operations.

FYR’s head of software engineering Claire Seibold explained their enthusiasm as follows: “Working with Psychē is allowing our software team to make a huge difference and bridge functionality gaps. We are excited to team up with Psychē on an API that allows us to build comprehensive systems for our lab techs and clients to work together more efficiently and seamlessly. Further, we’re proud that our lab team will have a voice in building something that can make a real difference to many other diagnostic and reference laboratories.”

In addition to developing the API, Psyche and FYR hope to work together on future projects to strengthen both companies’ position in the marketplace. Psyche and FYR have also each signed on to be part of a podcast series that showcases companies who innovated lab testing during a global pandemic. The untitled series (produced by Poddesy Entertainment) is expected to be released later this year.

The Psyche-FYR developer API will be available for new and existing customers in Q2 202, with additional features rolled out throughout the calendar year.
