One Kind Act a Day and Vineyard Team Up for the City of Kindness Certification

Salt Lake City, UT (PRUnderground) January 24th, 2024

Kindness is contagious, and one city is leading the charge to spread kindness throughout the community. One Kind Act a Day proudly announces the successful collaboration with Vineyard City, Utah, resulting in the city officially being the first city to receive the Certified City of Kindness designation. Vineyard City’s dedicated efforts and enthusiasm for promoting a culture of compassion make it the pioneering city to achieve this distinction in partnership with our organization.

“On behalf of One Kind Act a Day, it has been a privilege working with the City of Vineyard on their kindness initiatives,” said Curtis Bennett, Executive Director of One Kind Act a Day. “It has been our observation that from the mayor to city employees, public safety, residents, and most importantly, the schools of Vineyard, a culture of kindness is alive and vibrant. This is a community that understands that kindness is transformational in every component of our lives, positively impacting, now and in the future, our direct quality of life.”

The Kind City Certification Program provides a comprehensive framework for towns and cities, focusing on fostering positive social connections, inclusivity, and an improved quality of life for residents.

“Kindness is the foundation of safe communities. It provides a catalyst for strong leadership and a well-educated society. It acts as a formidable barrier against homelessness, nurtures the growth of small businesses, and improves health and well-being,” said Vineyard City Mayor, Julie Fullmer. “This simple yet profound initiative builds a habit that preserves personal freedoms and promotes connected communities.”

To commemorate this significant achievement, a ceremony will be held at 10am on January 29 at the Utah Valley Home Builders Association in Vineyard (707 E Mill Rd #201, Vineyard, UT 84059.) During this event, Vineyard City will be officially bestowed with the Certified City of Kindness Proclamation. The ceremony will be followed by a press conference where representatives from One Kind Act a Day, Vineyard City officials, Utah First Lady Abby Cox, and other community leaders will share insights on the collaborative efforts that led to this momentous occasion.

“Vineyard has always valued the spirit of kindness, and through our collaboration with One Kind Act a Day, we are taking it to new heights,” said Mayor Fullmer. “Becoming the first Certified City of Kindness in Utah is not just an achievement for us but an inspiration for communities around us.”
