2021 CarBuzz Tech Lover’s Dream Award Finalists Announced

Every model year sees more incredible technology incorporated into vehicles, and for 2021, the vehicles that feature the best technology, whether it pertains to safety, comfort, or performance, made it onto the CarBuzz shortlist.

2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS

There’s 56 inches of screen in the cockpit of the Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan. The Hyperscreen stretches from door to door, and not only will it display pertinent information, but it will adapt to the driver’s patterns and preferences, suggestion destinations and features of importance. The navigation system has “Electric Intelligence” to plan the quickest route based on traffic, charging opportunities, and your style of driving. And, if you’re a little stressed, there are programs that merge music, ambient lighting, calming sounds and fragrances, to help you unwind or enhance your mood. The safety suite is equally advanced, covering all the bases. 

2022 Polestar 2

Nothing could be simpler than driving the Polestar 2; if you have your key nearby, or have set up your phone to act as a key, you just hop in and drive off, no start button or ignition needed. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, though, with the Polestar 2’s Google-based infotainment system displayed on an 11.15-inch portrait-oriented screen. Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play are all integrated for easy access to your favorite apps, and if you log in with your Google account, it can even predict what you may need next.  

2022 BMW iX

The iDrive software that was originally so frustrating has evolved into a user-friendly, super-quick system in its eighth-generation guise. The BMW iX makes use of voice commands and can be set up to respond to a variety of different inputs. Navigation comes courtesy of augmented reality directions when you’ve chosen a destination, and floating arrows help to direct you as you drive. The car also features an interior camera to take pics as you road trip along, and in the future, will be utilized as a Remote Theft Recorder. The system has Wi-Fi and supports 5G, and over-the-air updates will keep all the tech fresh while cameras and radars galore aid a comprehensive safety suite.
