Modern Healthcare program honors leaders who are instituting innovation and leading transformative programs that improve care
Salt Lake City, UT (PRUnderground) June 16th, 2022
David Dirks, vice president of strategy at Intermountain Healthcare and interim chief executive officer of Castell, has been named by Modern Healthcare to its national Top 25 Innovators list for 2022.
The annual awards and recognition program honors leaders who are instituting innovation and leading transformative programs that improve care by achieving measurable results, while contributing to the clinical and financial goals of their organization.
“Care model innovation is critical to Intermountain’s value-based care strategy, and Dave’s work in this area has been truly transformational” said Dan Liljenquist, Intermountain Healthcare chief strategy officer.
The magazine highlighted Dirks’ work in launching Intermountain’s Reimagined Primary Care model, which transitioned primary-care into a value-based model, which realigned incentives and redesigned the way providers care for their patients to enhance patient experience and satisfaction and reduce unneeded costs.
By basing compensation on patient outcomes, this model encourages doctors to find different and less expensive ways to get to the same results, which lowers the cost of healthcare while improving overall health in the community.
Castell was created by Intermountain Healthcare to help accelerate the transition from volume to value-based systems of care, improve outcomes, and make costs more affordable—for everyone.
