Adrenaline Monkey Brings Family Adventure and Performance Training to “The Friendly City”

On Monday, November 13, Adrenaline Monkey, a 24,000 square foot state-of-the-art ‘ninja training’ and family adventure center, will break ground in Warrensville Heights, OH. Once open, it will offer family-friendly indoor entertainment and recreation activities to inspire active lifestyles and create empowering experiences through play. In addition to extreme obstacle courses and seven climbing features, Adrenaline Monkey will have dedicated play areas for children and adults of all ages to engage in the health, confidence, and active play that today’s citizens crave.

The concept for Adrenaline Monkey started with Denise Carkhuff’s two daughters. Inspired by the “Ninja Warrior” obstacle courses as seen in the American Ninja Warrior television program, the girls yearned for a space in the community to be just like the ninja warrior stars featured on the program. Complete with two full-size obstacle courses, two parkour courses, aerial ropes course, low ropes course, climbing walls, and an arcade, the girls have had a large influence in what the adventure facility will offer to locals and the surrounding areas.

With Carkhuff’s inspiration by her daughters, she feels compelled to provide an establishment in the community where people of all shapes, sizes, and ages want to train to be, and can be, a ninja athlete. “Ninja athletes are the athletes of the future. We are at the very beginning of this fast growing and sustainable trend.” says, Carkhuff. “We’re here to provide a safe, fun, and healthy environment for kids of all ages. At Adrenaline Monkey, we encourage you to release your inner child.”

The mission of Adrenaline Monkey is to inspire physical activity, provide empowering experiences, encourage a sense of adventure, and develop the skill and passion for movement for anyone who is willing to try. For families in search of healthy, wholesome activities in which to participate, Adrenaline Monkey will offer a premium and memorable experience for adults and children alike. Unlike other family entertainment options, Adrenaline Monkey will be more than just about fitness and fun. The experiences are designed to instill confidence, physical literacy, and healthy habits that other traditional forms of family entertainment do not.

Beginning Spring 2018, Adrenaline Monkey will be committed to serving the local community in specific and measureable ways including scholarships, after-school programs, and employment opportunities for students. Giving back to the community is important to the team at Adrenaline Monkey, especially because “The Friendly City” has been so receptive to bringing people of the Cleveland area together for sports, training, and fitness at the brand-new facility.
