Advanced Pipe Repair is proud to announce that it has added a new team member to its ranks. Chris Bloun has joined the APR team as the new Operations Manager. Chris has years of experience in pipe repair, and now he’s bringing his pipe repair skills and his project leadership skills to Texas.

Chris worked for his family’s service company before signing on to work with Advanced Pipe Repair. Chris began working for the family business shortly after starting school for engineering. His family’s business handled every kind of pipe service, from pipe cleaning to camera inspections to rehabilitation. They even got their lining certification in 2010 and started putting that knowledge to work in 2014.

Chris’s connection to Advanced Pipe Repair began about four years ago at the Pumper and Cleaner Expo, an annual exhibition that features equipment, education, and networking opportunities for people in the pipe service industry. While there, Chris was introduced to Clayton Holland, owner of Advanced Pipe Repair.

Although they met at the expo, that first introduction was more about friendship than networking. “We’re very much alike,” Chris said. Chris and Clayton have a lot in common, Chris told us. Both like to have a good time, but both also like to work hard, and they bring that dedication into their pipe repair work.

Eventually, though, that friendship also became a business relationship. As Chris said, “Clayton made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.” Now, Chris is the Operations Manager at Advanced Pipe Repair. Chris is very ready to move to Texas from Alaska, his home state. Once he arrives, he’ll start working on a project for the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin.

Chris’s work will go well beyond Austin, though. “I’m pretty excited,” said Chris. “I’m learning the Texas map.” Like Texas, Alaska is a big state, so Chris is used to going back and forth between major cities. Still, he’s looking forward to being able to visit other states without getting on a boat or driving through Canada. He also looks forward to all of the hunting, fishing, and camping opportunities that Texas has to offer, especially waterfowl hunting.

Thanks to Chris’s expertise, Advanced Pipe Repair can become even more efficient and far-reaching. Advanced Pipe Repair will continue offering its trenchless pipe rehabilitation methods, including cured-in-place pipelining. Trenchless pipe repair involves little to no digging, so it limits noise, destruction, and property damage.
