Classically trained as a violinist and possessing a singular willingness to incorporate everything from classical and Asian influences all the way to Latin music and Trap into his vision of “Epic Soul” Virginia’s Afro-Cuban singer-songwriter Odysseus is set to put the whole music world on notice. In exciting news, Odysseus recently announced the release of his quite cinematic debut single “This Is Why I Cry”, a song addressing the stress and frustrations a person can feel when their world comes crashing down, taking the listener on a journey through depression to peace. “This Is Why I Cry” is available at CD Baby, and across all of the major music streaming platforms. The excitement surrounding his debut is high, to put it mildly.
“There can be power in vulnerability if you let it guide you as a step toward peace,” commented Odysseus on his first single, “Not every person can see the power that they hold, this is why I cry.”
Beginning his study and training as a musician at the age of 8, Odysseus learned to respect and value the structure and lasting strength of classical music. After also being instructed as a vocalist and learning the power of his voice, when attending a school where he couldn’t continue with classes in the instruments he loved, fate made Odysseus even more of a well-rounded musician. Ten years later his vision of Epic Soul that fuses this already diverse foundation with more modern sounds is resulting in something new and special a path the artist has been on since.
