AURORA, Colo. (PRUnderground) September 8th, 2016

American Sentinel University will join the nation in celebrating Constitution Day on Sept. 16 to commemorate the day 39 brave men changed the course of history by signing the U.S. Constitution 229 years ago. American Sentinel will recognize this significant event with a weeklong celebration that includes a Constitution Week Reflection Wall and contest for students and faculty.

American Sentinel’s Constitution Week Reflection Wall will share quotes from its students, alumni, staff and faculty about what the Constitution means to them, what their favorite amendment is and how the Constitutional freedoms they enjoy have enabled them to be civically engaged in their daily lives.

The university will also host a Constitution Week Competition. Students and faculty members can participate through the online classroom. All participants will be entered to win gift certificates from American Sentinel’s online store.

American Sentinel will engage its community of academic scholars and students with an informative learning session about the importance of America’s Constitution and examine how Constitutional freedoms reflect the values they cherish and the ideals they strive for as a society.

“Constitution Week is the perfect time to read and study our country’s greatest document which is the safeguard of our American liberties,” says Mary Adams, President and Chief Academic Officer at American Sentinel University. “We encourage our students, faculty, and staff to reflect on our heritage and freedom by coming together to celebrate our wonderful country by sharing their stories on our Reflection Wall.”

Constitution Day (formerly Citizenship Day) commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787. It is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens.
