Locally-owned and operated waste management company Atlas Disposal provides a wide range of residential and commercial waste disposal, organic waste collection, and recycling services in the Salt Lake City area. Dedicated to helping businesses adopt environmentally friendly practices, Atlas is actively involved in protecting Utah’s unique ecosystems. In September, Atlas team members will join the Friends of the Great Salt Lake to pick up trash around the Great Salt Lake as part of International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) 2022.®

With locations in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Sacramento, California, Atlas Disposal prides itself on being big enough to meet the needs of its customers while maintaining a small company connection with its customers. Their locally-owned and operated facilities allow them to respond to questions and concerns more quickly than larger waste disposal companies. The Atlas team is dedicated to educating customers in their community about green business practices because a business is only as sustainable as its environment.

“While we strive to provide companies in Utah and California with top-notch waste management services, that is only part of our mission,” said Nick Sikich, President of Atlas Disposal. “As a waste management company in Salt Lake City, we strive to educate businesses on green waste management practices that will help Utah communities thrive for years to come.”

For over 37 years, the International Coastal Cleanup has encouraged communities worldwide to improve the health of our oceans and waterways by cleaning up waste. As one of few salt water lakes, the Great Salt Lake provides a unique environment for wildlife in the state. Removing trash from areas around the lake will help protect this fragile ecosystem. This year Friends of the Great Salt Lake invites businesses and residents alike to join them on September 17th at Great Salt Lake State Park to remove trash along the lake’s southern shore. Atlas Disposal team members will participate in the cleanup and provide a disposal bin to help remove the waste.

“We are proud to be joining Friends of the Great Salt Lake and other members of the Utah community to preserve the lake and surrounding areas,” remarked Sikich. “This annual event is a great way for us to use our expertise in waste management to support a great cause and help keep Utah clean.”
