Bronx, NY (PRUnderground) March 30th, 2022
Baldor Specialty Foods, one of the largest importers and distributors of fresh produce and specialty foods in Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, announced today its biennial BITE celebration will be held on Tuesday, April 26th, 2022, from noon to 5 pm, at Pier 36’s Basketball City located at 299 South Street in NYC’s historic Seaport District.
Baldor’s legendary BITE event is a meeting of culinary minds that attracts more than two thousand chefs, restaurateurs, farmers, and retailers who come together to celebrate their craft. It serves as a dynamic networking event where chefs and suppliers build new bonds throughout the supply chain, while enjoying the full spectrum of foods and drinks they love.
A highlight at this year’s BITE will be a special, one-on-one, fireside chat with world-renowned Italian restaurateur, Chef Massimo Bottura. BITE attendees will learn how Bottura ideates around gastronomy to create delicious and nutritious food that promotes collaboration and empowers an environment of inclusion across his numerous hospitality and social businesses.
Also at this year’s BITE, tastemaker and former Editor-in-Chief of Food and Wine Magazine, Dana Cowin will lead a panel of New York City’s top chefs and restauranteurs who are reimagining the future of hospitality by building a strong kitchen culture. A panel of industry innovators, founders, and visionaries will join former Whole Foods executive Elly Truesdell, who recently founded New Fare Partners, to explore the modern eater and America’s shifting palate.
In addition to a full roster of insightful speakers, BITE 2022 attendees can look forward to a delicious day of sampling products from over 175 farms and food producers from across the world. This year’s event will feature over 40 new partners who will be participating at BITE for the very first time. There’ll be immersive food-focused activations, an outdoor beer garden where guests can sample local craft brews, a seafood and farmers market where chefs can meet their favorite growers and producers, all-day libations and custom cocktails in the Diretta lounge, food trucks, instant gelato machines, 1,000 types of cheese, and so much more.
“Baldor BITE 2022 is a celebration of the world’s best food with all the talented people who make it all happen,” said Baldor Specialty Foods CEO, TJ Murphy. “We are so thankful for being able to finally gather with our farmers, partners, and customers to reflect and learn from recent challenges, celebrate our wins, and most importantly, strategize and build our future.”
“After a two-year pause for the pandemic, and now four years since our last show, we’re pleased to announce Baldor BITE is back, bigger and better than ever,” said Benjamin Walker, Baldor’s Senior Vice President. “This year’s BITE is a celebration of our industry’s strength and resilience. We plan on re-opening our hometown city of New York with a bang!”
