“Our medical response personnel have been keeping their schedules across the state as more than 100 coach buses and some 1,100 passenger vehicles move our emergency medial personnel twice daily for their hospital shifts,” said Kevin Dinnin, BCFS System President and CEO.
In San Antonio, staff members at BCFS Health and Human Services EMD have been providing cots, blankets and teams of emergency medical personnel for a warming center established at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The warming center is prepared to receive up to 500 people and officially opened at 5 p.m. on February 16, according to a press release from the city’s Office of Emergency Management.
BCFS Health and Human Services EMD will continue to respond to the current weather crisis affecting the nation in addition to its ongoing response to COVID-19, which began nearly a year ago.
