Minneapolis, MN (PRUnderground) September 28th, 2022

Saturday, October 1, 2022, Black Business Enterprises and GlamLife Events & Parties, returns for its Third Annual Black Business Ball Fundraiser. The gala has grown in popularity amongst minority entrepreneurs and business owners, African American, as an evening to celebrate Black Excellence. However, the true purpose of the ball is far more meaningful than a fancy night out.

“The Black Business Ball” is an inspiring and elegant evening to help raise funds for grants given to empower Black owned businesses in Minnesota, aiding in bridging the racial wealth gap, in addition Black Business Enterprises provides access to technology, financial literacy classes, credit building courses and other educational workshops. Multiple corporations and local community organizations have joined to support Nancy Korsah’s mission, the founder of Black Business Enterprises.

Black Business Enterprises Fund (BBE) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, serving a large coalition of young entrepreneurs, small businesses and low-income individuals seeking to start a business and improve their financial well-being. Nancy explains, “Our goal is to help individuals raise their economic status through education and we have a strong commitment to advance financial literacy in the community. We have a total of 44,000 members in Minneapolis alone and 3.6 million members globally.” Black Business Enterprises main goal is to help build sustainable communities and forge lasting and meaningful relationships with its members.

The First Black Business Ball launched in Minneapolis, October of 2020, as an effort to heal the city and gather Black owned businesses, to honor them, award small grants and give them the much-needed spotlight to help their businesses thrive. Nancy was already known for being the woman that led the push to revive Black-owned businesses in Minneapolis following the death of George Floyd. She raised $38,000 to aid several Black Owned businesses on Lake Street, rebuild, and she continued to offer resources for building stronger businesses. Nancy says, “My focus is to foster black economics and help Black communities across the US flourish, but in 2020, Minneapolis has become my main priority.”

Glamlife Events & Parties is one of the leading Black-owned event services in the state of Minnesota. For Nancy, this was the perfect partner to help pull this extravagant experience together. When inviting the owner to collaborate, the pair realized their missions were fully aligned. “I believe having access to capital is the primary factor inhibiting the growth of Black-owned businesses.” said Kimberly “Glamlife Kim” Holifield, Founder of GlamLife Events & Parties and on-air talent at the Twin Cities only Black-owned radio station, 89.9 KMOJ FM.
