Blacks in Technology hosts sports hackathon for the Greater San Diego region

San Diego, CA (PRUnderground) February 4th, 2019

Blacks in Technology (BIT) proudly announces that Intuit will host Baseball Hack Day at their San Diego facilities on Saturday March 9th, 2019, for a single day event where tech and sports collide. Composed of students, entrepreneurs, professionals, sports analysts, and techies, the Hack Day audience will come together to create incredible projects, tools, apps, and visualizations to increase the love of the game.  Also, participants will have the opportunity to form teams and pitch their idea to a panel of judges to receive a grand prize (and bragging rights). In addition to its partnership with Intuit, BIT has partnered with tech-focused, local organizations such as Girls in Tech, National Society of Black Engineers, Startup San Diego, and Tech Ladies.

Baseball Hack Day San Diego Co-Organizer, Elizabeth Cotton, commented, “As the tech industry is already very competitive and fast paced, the sports tech industry is even more aggressive. Baseball Hack Day is such a great program as it infuses sports, entertainment, innovation, and tech. It’s great to see Fortune 500 companies like Intuit provide mentorship and sponsorship for events such as this. Participants not only get the opportunity to develop and showcase their technical skills but also network and build relationships with employees from a top technology company.”

Born in Boston spring of 2012, Baseball Hack Day is a grass-roots, open-sourced movement, held at the same day at different locations all around the world.
