Campfire Trailers, an Upstate New York-based horse trailer conversion company that takes vintage horse trailers and transforms them into bars, coffee shops, ice cream trucks, and more, this past Memorial Day Weekend hosted a historic photo shoot in front of Altamont’s “Homefront Café.”

Heralded for preserving WWII era artifacts, notes, uniforms, and history for modern generations to behold as they enjoy a meal with local patriots and veterans, the Homefront Café has been a staple in the center of quaint Altamont, New York for decades.

Campfire Trailers parked one of their vintage horse trailer bars in front of the café, with café owners Cindy and Jack Pollard present. Also featured in the photo included veteran Jeffrey Looman, veteran and Albany icon Alan Iselin, uniform of veteran Robert Huba, and Helen Huba.

“It won’t be long before members of the WWII generation are no longer around to share their stories, memories, and experiences from that important time in our country’s history,” said Lisa Fasulo, Founder and Owner of Campfire Trailers. “We were honored to organize and capture such a priceless photo that will preserve some of the most respected and selfless people in the Albany region.”

Campfire Trailers scours the New York countryside for vintage horse trailers that are rusted, unwanted, and no longer in use. They refurbish the trailers into modern-day condition for wedding bar rentals, summer-long rentals, coffee shop rentals, and the list goes on.

As no strangers to taking something old and making it brand new, Campfire Trailers wanted to create that kind of scenery surrounding the patriots, veterans, and civil servants present in their photo shoot.

“The American Dream is still alive and well for those looking to find it,” said Fasulo. “Don’t forget to thank a vet today.”
