CertNexus Launches Cyber Secure Coder 210
Industry: Information Technology
Rochester, NY (PRUnderground) April 2nd, 2020
CertNexus has launched an update to their secure coding certification, Cyber Secure Coder® (CSC). CSC is intended for those currently in or seeking careers such as Software Architect, Lead Developer, Software Engineer, Programmer, QA Tester, or others which routinely use programming and scripting languages.
Since the first version of CSC was released in 2017, there has been a continued expansion of technology which has altered the threat landscape. In response, we have updated the exam to address the top security risks to developers including the OWASP Top Ten, which reflect the most current security violations for applications, vulnerabilities in IoT and mobile apps, web and server-based applications exploits and attacks.
Tool sets and protocols have been updated as we continue to emphasize threat modeling and include privacy considerations under GDPR and country specific privacy laws. And the associated 3-day course receives an update to its hands-on practice exercises using the latest software versions to better address vulnerabilities in today’s fast paced development environment. For a full description of changes please refer to the updated exam blueprint or bridge document available at https://certnexus.com/certification/cyber-secure-coder/.
“More than 100 billion lines of code are developed each year with nearly 70% of it being composed of open-source software, third-party or shared libraries. And as most development professionals agree, the pressure to deliver more quickly using iterative development processes has severely reduced the time to spend on potential security issues,” said Megan Branch, Chief Product Officer. “With Cyber Secure Coder we hope to provide the development community with the skills needed to reduce the number of vulnerabilities that enter our rapidly growing software-driven ecosystem.”
Cyber Secure Coder (CSC) – CertNexus’ BUILD level certification in its Cybersecurity product line – is designed to validate the knowledge and skills required to design and develop protected applications, regardless of the language used for development or the platform on which they will be deployed. It will upskill your team by teaching them how to determine vulnerabilities that undermine security, and how to identify and remediate them in your projects. Teams will learn general strategies for dealing with security defects and misconfiguration, how to design software to deal with the human element in security, and how to incorporate security into all phases of development.
