Charlottesville Based Band Pale Blue Dot Helps Community Heal From Rally Tragedy

Charlottesville band Pale Blue Dot was as horrified as most of the nation at the horrible car attack that happened in their city in August of 2017 when a car was deliberately driven through a crowd of protestors. Determined to not let hateful rhetoric win, the band got to work on a song to unite the city and the country. The song from their album “Anatomy” brought together top musical talent and captured the attention of the city.

“Only Love” is an upbeat track, providing energy, strength and hope for anyone who wants to stand up to hateful, violent thoughts and actions in their community. The song has tapped into the hearts and minds of the residents of Charlottesville, “Only Love” was chosen by the community as the 10th Best Song of 2018 by local radio station WCNR. Proceeds from the track have gone to the HEAL Cville fund.

A cavalcade of local musical legends were eager to step up and lend their voices to stamp out hate.  Butch Taylor of The Dave Matthews Band, John DEarth who has played with The Dave Matthews Band as well as Miles Davis, Sam Wilson from Sons of Bill, and Yolonda Jones who has worked with Pharell are all featured artists on “Only Love.”

“Anatomy” is an exquisitely emotional rock album that explores a large swath of human existence including the possibility of love amidst personal and political strife, anger and distrust. Expert musicianship shines through, most of the album was recorded during live sessions with little reliance on overdubs. Overall, “Anatomy” merits multiple listens.

“Anatomy” was recorded at Blackbird Studio in Nashville, Bias in DC, and MonkeyClause in Charlottesville. Dave Stipe was the Producer/engineer, Jeff Juliano mixed the album and Kevin Mcnaulty mastered. Tony LaRocco is on vocals/guitar, Peter Balough played guitar, Drew Pompano on bass and Johnny Stubbelfield on drums.

Pale Blue Dot continues to create new music. They’re looking forward to announcing the release date of their new album this fall.
