On the heels of the FDA and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's national drug announcement, Choate Construction was named the national Top Corporate Team by the CF Foundation.

Atlanta, GA (PRUnderground) October 24th, 2019

General contractor Choate Construction Company was recently named as the Top Corporate Team in the Nation by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Based on dollars raised, Choate leads the nation with $671,000 funds raised just this year.  Other top performing companies include Mastercard, CARSTAR, and Cisco Systems.

This news comes at a momentous time for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which also recently announced a pivotal breakthrough with the FDA approval of Trikafta, a combination drug therapy that treats the underlying genetic defect in 90% of those who suffer from cystic fibrosis.  Trikafta will essentially arrest the disease at the genetic level.

Cystic fibrosis is a life-shortening genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system; those with CF have an average life expectancy of approximately 40 years old.  Affecting only 30,000 people in the U.S., research for treatment is primarily funded by the CF Foundation via private donors, such as Choate Construction.

“The news of the breakthrough of Trikafta is profoundly life-changing for tens of thousands of families,” says Millard Choate, founder and Executive Chairman. “For 30 years, Choate and our employee-owners have worked tirelessly towards a cure for CF.  This is a colossal step and a miracle for many.”

Dave Priester, Choate President & CEO, says, “Today represents what power a company has when it comes to stewardship and existing for something simply beyond profit,” says Dave Priester, President & CEO of Choate. “Everyone should be very proud of their role in this momentous occasion.”

Choate Construction began supporting the cystic fibrosis cause over 30 years ago when a family friend of Millard Choate’s was diagnosed. At the time, the life expectancy was 13 years old. Since then, as the company grew, so too did the employees’ support of the cause and the CF Foundation.

Choate supports the CF Foundation in all six of its offices, with sponsorships, volunteer effort, and signature events created by Choate.  From hiking to galas, cars to clay shoots, Choate employee-owners are engaged in a united, steadfast commitment to cure cystic fibrosis and have raised over $3.5 million to date.
