One of the NFL's Greatest Safeties of All Time Is Headed to Canton.

Dallas, TX (PRUnderground) January 30th, 2020

After 40 years, Cliff Harris from the Dallas Cowboys was finally elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2020, along with 12 other inductees on Jan 15, 2020. The full 15-person Centennial Slate for the Class of 2020 is now officially revealed. Cliff Harris, a former safety from the Dallas Cowboys made it to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Both Cliff Harris and the Dallas Cowboys were hopeful that Drew Pearson (receiver) and Clint Murchison (founder and owner) would be included as well, but they were not selected this year.

The day of the announcement came as a welcomed surprise for Harris, whose unlikely journey to the Hall of Fame began at Ouachita Baptist University. “I was overwhelmed with emotion and thought about all the great players in the Hall of Fame and about my mom and dad,” said the legendary safety. Cliff Harris was a big-time hitter, and his 10-year career until 1979 helped the Cowboys win 7 NFC East titles and two Super Bowls. Best known on the field for his intensity and savvy performance, Harris earned the nicknamed “Captain Crash.”

The big event will take place later this year in Canton, Ohio. The Hall of Fame Experience’s Official Ticket Packages provide fans with a VIP experience, premium seating for the induction, and parties with Pro Football Hall of Famers.

Cliff Harris made an impact on football and the NFL as a whole, being 1 of only 13 players in NFL history to appear in 5 Super Bowls. In 2014, OBU honored Harris by naming its new football stadium, “Cliff Harris Stadium.” Also, there is an award named after him — the Cliff Harris Award.  Each year Cliff Harris hosts a prestigious award ceremony and presents a trophy to the top defensive player from small colleges across America.

Cliff Harris will remain one of the most impactful names in the history of the NFL, and in 2020, he was granted a well-deserved place in the “Gold Jacket” club.
