CMV Can Cause Heart Attacks and Stroke; The CBCD Reviews the Medical Evidence

Industry: Health & Fitness

The Cytomegalovirus (CMV), a common virus, increases the risk of heart attacks, stroke and death. (1) The CBCD recommends two natural CMV remedies.

“Infected with the cytomegalovirus (CMV)? The CBCD recommends Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR.” – Greg Bennett, CBCD

The cytomegalovirus (CMV), a common virus, was linked to heart attacks and stroke. Dr. Marek Smieja, M.D. and colleagues wrote in a study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association that, “CMV exposure carried a higher risk for cardiovascular events or death.” (1) Dr. Smieja and colleagues are from the department of pathology and molecular medicine, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Additionally, Dr. Joseph B. Muhlestein, M.D., wrote in another study that “infections, especially cytomegalovirus, are associated with worsening cardiovascular events in people at high risk of cardiovascular disease.” (1) Moreover, he emphasized that his study suggests that science needs to look more carefully at viruses than it had before.

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) recommends that people infected with CMV take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR. The formula of these natural antiviral products was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin formula is effective against the herpes simplex virus, and other viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs.  Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with the CMV … reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR.” (2) The study authors also wrote that, “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (2)

Both products can be ordered online on the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR websites.

Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.

“In April 2010, fans of the Colorado Rockies were shocked when Keli McGregor, the president of the Rockies since 2001, was found dead in his hotel room in Salt Lake City. McGregor was a seemingly healthy, 48-year-old former athlete who lived an active life and kept himself in good shape, regularly lifting weights, hunting, and golfing. A few months later, the family issued a statement saying that McGregor’s death was caused by a viral infection of the heart. The virus attacked the heart muscle, causing inflammation and disrupting the electrical pathways that signal the heart to beat properly, leading to heart failure.” (3)

“McGregor was completely unaware, experiencing only flu-like symptoms before he passed away. Viruses can affect the heart, just like any other type of body. Viral infection, in turn, can cause inflammation – a condition called ‘myocarditis.’ Most of the time, the body will heal itself and you may never know you had a problem. However, in rare cases such as McGregor’s, the infection itself and the resulting inflammation can damage and weaken the heart, which can lead to heart failure and/or heart rhythm irregularities.” (3)

“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 50 to 80 out of every 100 people are infected with CMV by the time they’re 40 years old.” (3)

What treatments are available against the cytomegalovirus?

“Several drugs are approved for the treatment of CMV infections in immunocompromised individuals. These drugs include ganciclovir, its oral prodrug valganciclovir, cidofovir, foscavir and fomivirsen. However, the use of these drugs in immunocompetent individuals is limited by their toxicity, poor oral bioavailability, modest efficacy, and the development of drug resistance.” (2) There are also two natural CMV remedies with a clinically proven formula.

The CBCD therefore believes that the general public should target latent viruses like CMV.

About CBCD

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (https://www.cbcd.net) is a not-for-profit tax-exempt organization under section 501(c) 3 of the IRS tax code. The center’s mission is to advance the research on the biology of chronic disease and to accelerate the discovery of a cure for these diseases. The CBCD first published Dr. Hanan Polansky’s highly acclaimed “Purple” book, entitled “Microcompetition with Foreign DNA and the Origin of Chronic Disease” in 2003. In this book, he explains how foreign DNA fragments can cause many major diseases. The book has been read by more than 5,000 scientists around the world, and has been reviewed in more than 20 leading scientific journals. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
