DC-based Andrew Roby Events Named Best Wedding Planner in America by Brides

Andrew Roby plans beautiful, customized weddings in DC, Los Angeles, and Dallas, and, as the founder of the National Events Council, helps ensure racial equality in the events industry. His company, Andrew Roby Events, was recognized by Brides as one of the country’s 104 best full-service wedding planners.

The Andrew Roby Events team has been put to the test this past year while navigating event planning during a pandemic. In the midst of unpredictable circumstances, they worked tirelessly to adapt, create and tell magnificent stories through their events. Their resilience and uniqueness landed them on the list of Best Wedding Planners in America by Brides, alongside 103 of the industry’s best.
According to Brides, “These are the pros on the front lines of wedding planning today, helping couples coordinate, reschedule, and reimagine events. In many ways, a wedding planner’s job can seem as unpredictable as the times.”
Roby is an Army veteran who launched a black owned event planning company in 2005 after his time in the service. He has distinguished himself in the events industry as an “event storyteller” who loves to execute “immersive experiences” that make a mark for a lifetime. In addition to weddings, Roby also plans corporate and social events with a focus on creating a unique guest experience.
Each year, Brides compiles a list of the best wedding planners in America. They describe this year’s honorees as “dedicated, selfless and immensely talented.”
In Roby’s interview for Brides, he said, “The one detail a wedding cannot go without is creating the guest experience. Moments happen when friends and family are a part of them and can talk about how they felt at your wedding for the rest of their lives. So, focus on that detail and the rest will fall into place.”
Andrew Roby Events has adjusted to the pandemic by leading out with virtual and hybrid event production. Roby noted that his team members are his “Charlie’s Angels” and without them by his side, he would not have been able to execute so many wonderful weddings and other events during a challenging year.
In addition to leading Andrew Roby Events, Roby heads the National Events Council, which works to enhance diversity, equity and inclusion within event planning.
