Less than a month after the death of George Floyd at the knee of a Minneapolis police officer, “I can’t breathe” is the heart breaking phrase heard around the world. We will never forget Mr. Floyd’s torture as he, gasping for air and calling for his already deceased mother, took his last breath.
Refusing to sit on the sidelines and allow another murder-at- the-hands-of-a -police officer to become the “shaking my head norm”, Rapper Deveondi decided to honor Mr. Floyd and the black lives lost at the hands of injustice.
Deveondi has released “Don’t You Ever (Black Lives Matter)”, a commemorative song for George Floyd and anyone else that has lost their life due to police brutality. He is joined by many other musicians who have made a promise to support the Black Lives Matter movement.
The movement has encouraged popular hip hop star Deveondi to step up and do his part to keep people of color encouraged and motivated to keep fighting the good fight. With strong 808’s and a smooth melody, the song sounds like The Black Lives Matter Anthem.
