Don Runz Announces New Single “Coro Us,” Featuring Stephen RedHead
Tokyo, Japan (PRUnderground) July 8th, 2020
Music producer and artist Don Runz is announcing the release of his newest EP, “Coro Us,” featuring Stephen RedHead. The single is an afro jam music mix infused with hip-hop.
Listeners can pre-order the EP starting July 10. It will be available to stream on July 15.
Runz says he and RedHead came together when he was looking for a new energy. “I already had the melody,” he says “I met Stephen on Soundbetter.com and I knew he was the one to bring out the magic for this revolutionary vibe with the Afrobeats energy.”
The message of “Coro Us,” is an important one today, in that Runz says the song speaks to racial tensions and the political climate in the U.S. The song is educational, and listeners can easily relate the track to their everyday lives.
Runz, who was born as Donkor Base in Accra, Ghana, started making music at age 18. He previously released the EP, “Who Get Verse.” He studied drums and keyboard professionally for four years. “I remember my teacher used to tell me I will never make it,” he says, “and now here I am.”
Runz’s influences include Sizzla Kalonji, Bob Marley, and Tupac Shakur. His favorite music genres include hip-hop, reggae, afro music, and dance hall music. “I also listen to the new generation of music to get a new vibe on my new beatz.”
Redhead is an emcee from Northwest Washington, DC. His musical influences include A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, Cash Money Clique, DMX, Outkast, and many others from whom he learned about melody, cadence, wordplay and the art of storytelling.
