Dr. Eric Moses, Anesthesiologist, was announced as Medical Director of new ambulatory endoscopy and surgery center at the Albany Medical Center Niskayuna facility.

Albany Medical Niskayuna is AMC’s newest facility located at 1769 Union St. in Schenectady County. This area, once known as “doctor’s row”, has been uplifted with the new $8.5 million, 37,821 square foot facility which opened its door in 2017. With EMUrgentCare on the first floor and multiple specialty offices, procedure rooms, and surgical rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors, the facility brings a little bit of everything to the Niskayuna medical neighborhood.
Having already performed thousands of medical procedures since opening their doors in 2017, Albany Med Niskayuna has been seeking an upgrade in its designation to full ambulatory surgical center since late 2018 when it was initially approved by the Public Health Planning Council with a vote of 13-6 in November. Albany Med then received its contingent state approval in March 2019 to be able to operate as an outpatient surgery center. The contingency being that Albany Med submit documentation that the new facility is up to code.
Dr. Eric Moses, MD and Anesthesiologist, was appointed as Medical Director of Ambulatory Endoscopy and Surgery at Albany Med Niskayuna. Dr. Moses’ responsibilities include directing, supervising and evaluating the work activities of medical, nursing and technical personal as well as maintaining communications with governing boards and affiliated department heads.
The Albany Med Surgery Center at Niskayuna is set to complete over 3,500 surgical procedures in its first year with full surgical and ambulatory designations and is set to bring in an estimate $3.4 million in total revenue with its four procedure rooms and one operating room.
