Notably, this played a vital role in assisting individuals who are being abused by their spouses to continue with their immigration process without having to endure domestic abuse.

“As part of testing, I was able to also help many individuals dealing with oppressive conditions and finding solutions to help them achieve their right to be happy,” stated Gustavo.

Collaboration for a Noble Cause: Beyond the individual clients, Gustavo had the privilege to work with many non-profit organizations and contribute his expertise in treating, testing, and providing culturally sensitive solutions unique to the person’s background, history, etc., to their clients.

Not stopping there, Gustavo also made himself a part of a noble endeavor of helping elderly individuals with some cognitive issues to achieve their goal of becoming a US citizen. This process involved testing, identifying, and addressing cognitive obstacles to learning required civics tests and advocating on their behalf for the exemption. Gustavo had great success in this, as he expressed, “Receiving photos of my clients holding the American flag was extremely rewarding and motivating.”
