Dr. Kami Hoss of The Super Dentists Featured in SHRM Website Article on Dental Care

Industry: Healthcare

Dr. Kami Hoss and his San Diego dental practice, The Super Dentists, were recently featured in an article on the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) website, where he discusses the importance of having dental care.

San Diego, CA (PRUnderground) November 10th, 2020

In the article, Dr. Hoss acknowledges that many workers across the United States have failed to utilize their dental coverage since the spread of the global COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is important that they visit their dentists again, as postponing routine checkups may put their oral health care statuses at risk. In fact, with open enrollment being underway this fall/winter season, HR leaders may want to encourage their employees to ask their dentists about the various safety measures they have instituted amid the pandemic.

Ignoring dental care can unfortunately have an adverse impact on people’s teeth and gums, thus potentially leading to more gum disease or tooth decay, according to Dr. Kami Hoss. Gum disease is especially a problem among older patients. If patients’ gum disease are not tackled as soon as possible, this can result in tooth loss or extensive treatment in the longer term.

Meanwhile, younger patients tend to have more problems with clenching and grinding teeth due to stress. This can cause teeth to fracture or break, which may require costly treatment if not addressed early on. As an example, a fractured or broken tooth may simply require a crown if a dentist treats it early. However, the tooth will likely require an implant or need to be extracted if it remains untreated.

In the same manner, it is important that young people do not keep putting off orthodontic treatment, according to the SHRM article. The reason for this is that orthodontic issues will only progress over time, particularly because children’s mouths are regularly changing and growing.

All in all, Dr. Kami Hoss’s goal in the SHRM article is to help readers to better understand the importance of timely treatment and prevention for maintaining a healthy mouth long term.
